Why France?
The South of France has always been a magical place for Molly, lucky enough to have spent several childhood family vacations in the South of France, goofing off (and sometimes getting in trouble) with her two sisters; eating endless baguettes, pain au chocolat and eventually drinking lots of Rosé and Chateauneuf du Pape (Molly’s favorites). A world traveler himself, Connor had heard all about Molly’s favorite place from the early dating days. In 2019, Molly and Connor attended their close friends Becci and Doug’s wedding in Southwest France. It was at Becci and Doug’s wedding, Connor turned to Molly and said “I want to get married in the South of France” and the rest… is history! We are thrilled to celebrate the most magical day of our lives with all of you in our favorite place to be together.
How do I get to Chateau Martinay?
Chateau Martinay is outside the village of Carpentras which is within the Vauclouse region of Provence. The nearest small city is Avignon, which is 25 minutes by car. There are multiple ways to get to Chateau Martinay and the neighboring villages depending on what your heart desires. See our Travel & Stay page for additional details.
Fly into Paris and take a TGV (high speed train) from Paris to Avignon
Fly into Marseille and rent a car (about a 1hr drive)
Fly into Nice (3hrs drive)
You do you! We are just excited that you will be celebrating with us!
When is the RSVP deadline?
We would appreciate your RSVP as soon as possible, but no later than March 15th, 2024 given the overseas nature of our wedding. When we made the decision to exchange our vows and wed abroad we knew that undoubtedly some of our favorite people and family would not be unable to attend. It’s a huge ask to travel overseas for us, and not something we expect. Please do not worry if it’s too much to attend, we are lucky to have you in our lives and we will make sure to celebrate with you individually!
Can I bring a date?
Please check your invite for your +1! If you have any questions, please text Molly and Connor or email mollyandconnor24@gmail.com
Can I bring my kids to the wedding?
We love little ones, and someday we can’t wait to have our own. However, given the limited capacity of our venue, our wedding day is limited to adults only and the few children in the wedding party (we also want you to be able to have fun). That said, Europe is an incredible place to bring your kiddos. Of course feel free to bring your kids with you on your travels. Please reach out to Molly and Connor for a list of recommended babysitters and childcare for the night of our wedding.
What should I wear?
Welcome and Rehearsal: Cocktail attire
Ceremony and Reception: Formal attire please, we like to say, dress to impress.
Poolside Brunch: Casual
What will the weather be like?
We don’t claim to be the weatherman, but Provence weather in the end of May, early June is typically in the mid to high 70’s, low 80’s. Provence is known for “le mistral” or “the wind” so if you are always cold, a light sweater or wrap might be welcome.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be outdoors. Dancing will be indoors at the Chateau bar.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us. Just be sure to give priority to our photographer.
Will there be parking?
Yes there will be ample parking at the Chateau.
Will there be Transportation?
We are hoping to hire a few taxis that will be circling all night. Stay tuned for more information. If you choose to drive to the Chateau and take a taxi home, your vehicle will be safe overnight.
